Weekend Recap

We enter another international break after a few weekends of awesome soccer, including this past weekend. Let’s get into what happened Saturday and Sunday. Here’s a recap:

This Season’s Record: 77-65-15 (+4.7 Units)
Matchweek 12 Record: 6-3-0 (+3.8 Units)

Manchester Derby
Manchester City absolutely dominated Manchester United in the 177th Manchester Derby by the scoreline of 3-1. Pep Guardiola’s men put on another masterclass as they held United to only 1 shot on goal, had 65% of the possession, 11 more shots and almost double the passes. On City’s third goal scored by Ilkay Gundogan, they pieced together 44 passes and had every outfield player touch the ball. Manchester is blue and it’s not even close anymore.

Der Klassiker
Bayern traveled to first place and undefeated Dortmund as favorites but fell short 3-2. In one of the wilder matches we will see all season, Dortmund had to come from behind twice needing two goals from Marco Reus and one from Paco Alcacer. They extended their lead at the top of the table to 4 and more importantly 7 to 5th place Bayern. Sadly we didn’t see Pulisic as he didn’t get any minutes, but he will be rested for the upcoming USMNT friendlies against England and Italy.

Barcelona Lose at Home
Barca lost their first match at home in two seasons to Real Betis, 4-3. They were outplayed by a Betis team who sit mid-table, surely a result that will impact my upcoming power rankings. In Messi’s first match back since breaking his arm 3 weeks ago, he carried the load scoring two goals but a Rakitic red card set them back in the end. Luckily they still hold on to their 1st place status but their lead has been cut to only 1 point, tied with the rest of the top 4.

Premier League and Notable Scores
Milan (0) Juventus (2) | Monaco (0) PSG (4) | Cardiff (2) Brighton (1) | Southampton (1) Watford (1) | Newcastle (2) Bournemouth (1) | Leicester (0) Burnley (0) | Huddersfield (1) West Ham (1) | Crystal Palace (0) Tottenham (1) | Liverpool (2) Fulham (0) | Arsenal (1) Wolves (1) | City (3) United (1).

MLS Cup Playoffs
Sporting KC defeated Real Salt Lake 4-2 and 5-3 on aggregate and will face the Portland Timbers who beat Seattle on penalties on Thursday. Atlanta United knocked NYCFC 3-1 at home and 4-1 on aggregate in another show of force from Tata Martino’s team in front of 71,000 people. They are currently the favorites at +150. The New York Red Bulls closed out the Quarterfinals with a 3-0 win over the Crew, avenging a Leg 1 1-0 loss. SKC/Timbers and New York/Atlanta will face off on Sunday 11/25 in Leg 1 of the Conference Finals.

That’s it for this weekend’s recap! Since we’re on an international break, keep an eye out for a Power Rankings.

Stay Kickin’ It. Peace.

  1. Fight insomnia – Honey is often a carbohydrate to fat
digestion thereby it stimulates insulin release and also this action stimulates the tryptophan (a substance that creates us sleepy).
You could also find different natural ingredients in natual skin care products.
However, should they begin building within your attic,
they may cause some structural damage, besides as a nuisance.

  2. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though
you relied on the video to make your point. You definitely know what youre talking about, why throw away
your intelligence on just posting videos to your weblog when you could be giving
    us something informative to read?
