Matchweek 13 Betting Preview

The International Break is FINALLY over as we return to club soccer, which will go uninterrupted for the next 4 months. Luckily we return to two top-4 matchups in the Premier League and La Liga, a top-5 matchup in Serie A and MLS Cup Conference Finals. I have picks and previews for all of them and more! Let’s get started…

This Season’s Record: 77-65-15 (+4.7 Units)
Matchweek 12 Record: 6-3-0 (+3.8 Units)

Matchweek 12 went super well and has put me back on track to where I want to be units-wise. If you need a recap on Matchweek 12 and the wild weekend it was, you can find that HERE.

Saturday, November 24th

Southampton @ Fulham – Fulham have recently brought in Claudio Renieri who famously led Leicester City to a title in 2015. He’s coached teams like Inter Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Roma and more and he is sure to make an impact almost immediately for a struggling last place Fulham. He’s had a few weeks to prepare due to the international break, which is rare for new managers and I think he’ll acclimate pretty quickly. I love him in his debut at home against a Southampton team who hasn’t won a match since September 1st, especially with the pickem line. Fulham (Pickem, -110).

Chelsea @ Tottenham – A London Derby caps off the Saturday slate for the Premier League as these two teams will be fighting for 3rd place and to keep pace with Man City at the top. Both teams have been playing well as of late as Spurs have won 4 straight and Chelsea haven’t lost a match all season long. But Spurs have a few injuries at the back and I think it will be hard for them to contain a Chelsea offense that has scored the second most goals in the league this season, especially with a healthy Eden Hazard. I like the Blues here in the London Derby. Chelsea (Pickem, -115).

FC Nuremberg @ FC Schalke – Schalke needed this International Break even with a good run of form in the weeks leading up to it. After starting the season in last place through the first few games, Schalke have only lost one of their last six (against Frankfurt the Sunday before the break). I like them to continue their form as this new chapter of their season opens up against a team who hasn’t won a league match since 9/29 and have only won 2 points away from home all year. Schalke (-1, -110).

FC Barcelona @ Atletico Madrid – Before their shocking home loss to Betis, Barca were considered to some as the best team in the world with a healthy Messi. But that loss came at the worst possible time, heading into a two week international break and having to return to face a hot Atletico team. Atleti won the two matches before the break including a convincing 2-0 home win against an undefeated Dortmund side. They have only dropped points at home once this year and I think they’re the only side in La Liga that knows hot to contain that potent Barcelona offense. With a pickem line at a good price for Atleti, I can’t fade them here at home. Atletico Madrid (Pickem, +110).

Sunday, November 25th

Arsenal @ Bournemouth – The sneaky-best match of the week is Sunday morning when Arsenal travel to Bournemouth. Arsenal are currently on a sixteen-match unbeaten streak which sounds amazing but I’m here to tell you the problem with that. After winning eleven straight matches, the Gunners have drawn their last four competitive matches, three of which coming at home. There has been signs of slowing down as their offensive production hasn’t been what it was for most of the season and they haven’t had a serious road test since they faced Chelsea back in August. They go up against a Bournemouth side who sit just 4 points behind them in 6th and have only lost one home match all season long, albeit two matches ago in a comeback win by United. I love Bournemouth as home dogs here in this crucial matchup. Bournemouth (+0.5, -120).

AC Milan @ Lazio – Another top five battle this time in Serie A as Milan travel to Rome to take on a Lazio team who has only one loss in their last seven matches, a 3-0 drubbing at home to Inter. They have only dropped points twice at home and they were losses to other top-4 teams (Inter, Napoli). In Milan’s last seven matches, they are 3-1-3 (W-D-L) and won of their away matches. Their inconsistency is something I don’t want to bet on so I’m going to take Lazio as slight home favorites. Lazio (-0.5, -115).

MLS Conference Finals Leg 1

New York Red Bulls @ Atlanta United – After Atlanta blew their chance at getting the 1 seed on the last matchweek of the regular season (New York won that 1 seed instead), they’ll have to host the first leg on Sunday. This one is simple; Atlanta still remain the odds-on favorite to win it all, have one of the best home records in the league and THE best home field advantage in front of 75,000 people and are the most complete team in MLS. I never fade them at home and I won’t start here. Atlanta United (-0.5, -125).

Sporting Kansas City @ Portland Timbers – Although the Timbers were the 5 seed in the west, not too many people are shocked they’ve made it this far. But they will be going against an SKC team who hasn’t lost a match in seven attempts and with a pickem line I would hate to fade the possibility of them nabbing a point and an away goal before heading back to Kansas City with the advantage. Sporting KC (Pickem, +115).

That’s all for this weekend’s slate of matches. Get your bets in Friday night and wake up with some extra money in your pocket!

Stay Kickin’ It. Peace.
