Matchweek 15 Midweek Betting Preview

Short on time here so we’re going to have a quick preview of today and tomorrow’s picks.

If you missed Derby Day then shame on you as it was one of the better sports days I have seen in a long time. Arsenal won a thriller against Spurs 4-2, Liverpool score at the death to win 1-0 over Everton and Fulham couldn’t hold Chelsea as they were outclassed 2-0.

I highly recommend watching the highlights of the North London Derby HERE

This Season’s Record: 84-77-21 (-1.8 Units)
Matchweek 14 Record: 4-4-2 (-0.8 Units)

Not a bad week, as I find my balance before we hit the busy stretch of 70 Premier League matches over the next 30 days. It’s the most crucial part of the season and it can make or break title runs, Champions League Qualification and Relegation races.

But here comes the best thing in the sport; random midweek matches to get you through the work week/day.

Tuesday, December 4th
Ligue 1, 1:00 pm EST

Monaco @ Amiens – Monaco need this match as they’re now out of the Champions League, making their league push their biggest priority. Big opportunity here against another relegation zone club. Monaco (Pickem, -125).

Angers @ Nice – 7th place Nice take on 13th place Angers as both have been in good form, but Nice have not lost in their last 5 Ligue 1 matches. I don’t see that ending here at home. Nice (-0.5, +105).

Premier League, 2:45 pm EST

Cardiff @ West Ham – West Ham have been in great form as of late in the league, with only 2 losses in their last 6 league matches coming against Spurs and City. Cardiff are also in good form coming off of a big win at home to a confusing Wolves side. But I think Cardiff are due for some regression especially going into a hostile London Stadium atmosphere. West Ham (-1, +105).

Huddersfield @ Bournemouth – If you didn’t know by now, I love betting Bournemouth. They can’t stop covering this season, even with 4 straight losses in the league. They have failed to cover once in their last eight Premier League matches and have not dropped points at home to someone outside of the traditional top 6 this season. Bournemouth (-1, +115).

Crystal Palace @ Brighton – This is a pretty big rivalry match for both sides, as they’ve played over 100 times with 38 wins to both teams. Brighton have taken advantage of their easy schedule the last month and a half, with only two losses in their last seven. Palace are coming off of a big win but haven’t won a match away from home in the league since Huddersfield on 9/15. I like Brighton on the home pickem line with their stout defense that can frustrate an inconsistent Palace attack. Brighton (Pickem, -105).

Ligue 1, 3:00 pm EST

Lille @ Montpellier – Lille and Montpellier have been the two surprising stories from this season’s Ligue 1. Montpellier sit in 2nd while Lille are holding on to 4th place and the last Champions League spot. I think Lille are due for a turnaround after a recent bout of bad form and Montpellier have benefited from an easy schedule as of late. I like the points in this one, with a draw very likely. Lille (+0.5, -130).

Wednesday, December 5th
Ligue 1, 1:00 pm EST

Bordeaux @ Saint-Etienne – Behind the blog, I’ve secretly been betting on Saint-Etienne all season long and they usually don’t disappoint. They’re sitting in 6th and are home on a pickem line against a Bordeaux team who are in good form and just sweat out a draw to giants PSG. To me, that’s a bad thing as they’re due for some regression and will be tired from their match on Sunday, compared to S-E’s two days more of rest with a pretty easy schedule as of late. I love the home pickem line where S-E have not lost all season long. Saint-Etienne (Pick, +105).

Premier League, 2:45 pm EST

Newcastle @ Everton – Everton are coming off of a big loss to their rivals while Newcastle are coming off a big home loss to West Ham. I think Everton will have to rest some starters as they have a few big matches upcoming in the league. This match will be tighter as Everton will still be affected by their Derby loss and Newcastle need a bounce-back result. Everyone may win but one point is just too much for me to fade Newcastle. Newcastle (+1, -115).

Premier League, 3:00 pm EST

Arsenal @ Manchester United – Many people believe Arsenal will come back down to Earth after their HUGE Derby win this past weekend. But they looked too good for me to fade here with decent odds on the pickem. United have yet to beat a team in the top 5 this season and I think Arsenal’s momentum won’t stop here. Arsenal (Pick, +115).

That’s all folks! Enjoy the midweek matches.

Stay Kickin’ It. Peace.
